INDIANAPOLIS (January 16, 2024) – Youngstown State earned a pair of key home wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and Wright State to highlight this week’s #HLMBB action while Green Bay and Oakland also earned two victories each to top the League standings.

#HLMBB DIG DEEPER
- The Penguins posted a 2-0 record last week with wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and Wright State. Ziggy Reid averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. He also shot 60.9 percent (14-for-23) from the field, 66.7 percent (6-for-9) from 3-point range, and 100 percent (9-for-9) from the free-throw line. He had 23 points with five rebounds against the Mastodons and connected on 8-for-14 from the field with three 3-pointers while connecting in all four free-throw attempts. Against the Raiders, Reid scored 20 points with nine rebounds and connected on 6-for-9 from the floor with three 3-pointers and five charity tosses. Brett Thompson also added 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game for YSU. Freshman Gabe Dynes also chipped in a career-high six blocks against the Raiders on Friday.
- DQ Cole was a major factor in Oakland’s 2-0 week, averaging 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Cole was crucial in the Golden Grizzlies’ overtime win over Northern Kentucky with three key threes (3-of-9 3FG) then shot 13-of-25 (.520) from the floor and led the team with 19 points (7-of-13 FG) in a win over IUPUI.
- Green Bay’s Noah Reynolds has scored 30+ points three times this season, including a 32-point effort against Cleveland State on Sunday. Reynolds has posted 21.4 points per game in #HLMBB play, along with 4.9 assists.
- Erik Pratt scored 21 points and Elijah Jamison added 20 points in Milwaukee’s comeback victory over Cleveland State on Friday. Langston Wilson (13 points, 14 rebounds) and BJ Freeman (14 points, 10 rebounds) also posted double-doubles for the Panthers.
- Tanner Holden averaged 20.0 points per game for the Raiders last week, including 29 points in the victory at RMU on Wednesday.
- LJ Wells had the best two-game stretch of his career as NKU played at Oakland and at Detroit Mercy. Wells averaged 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds, posting the first double-double of his career against Oakland with a career-best 15 boards and tying his career-high with 20 points against the Titans.
- Josh Corbin led RMU to a thrilling overtime win on Friday against Purdue Fort Wayne with a 28-point performance, including a career-high eight 3-pointers, and adding six assists.
- Quinton Morton-Robertson averaged 22.5 points per game for the Mastodons this week.
- Tristan Enaruna averaged 21 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for Cleveland State in two contests this week.
- Jayden Stone led the Titans with 27 points against Northern Kentucky on Saturday.
