Cleveland State Selected First in 2024-25 Under Armour #HLWBB Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS (October 16, 2024) – 2023-24 #HLWBB regular season champion Cleveland State is the front runner to win this season’s title in the 2024-25 Under Armour #HLWBB Preseason Poll with voting conducted by the League’s head coaches. This season’s Preseason Player of the Year honors went to Cleveland State’s Colbi Maples.

    • Preseason All-League Second Team selection Maddy Schreiber finished the 2023-24 season averaging 12.1 points and 4.0 rebounds.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne comes in third in the Preseason Poll after completing its most successful season in program history, finishing with a 23-13 record and a trip to the Super 16 round of the WNIT.
    • Amellia Bromenschenkel is named to the Preseason All-League First Team after posting career-highs averages in points (13.9) and rebounds (6.5) last season.
  • Preseason All-League Second Team honoree Katie Davidson recorded 16.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for IU Indianapolis in 2023-24.
  • Milwaukee’s Kamy Peppler claims a spot on the Preseason All-League Second Team after posting 11.5 points per game and connecting on 65 3-pointers in 2023-24.
  • Northern Kentucky’s Macey Blevins rounds out the Preseason All-League Second Team following a 2023-24 season averaging 12.9 points per game on 44.3% shooting.
  • #HLWBB welcomes four new coaches this season.
    • Kayla Karius returns as the head coach of her alma mater, Green Bay.
    • Jeff Hans (Northern Kentucky), Chandler McCabe (RMU) and Melissa Jackson (Youngstown State) all enter the 2024-25 season as the new leaders of their respective programs.
  • The regular season begins on Monday, Nov. 4 with Horizon League play scheduled to start on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
  • The 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are set to conclude at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis March 10-11 with the mantra #MarchStartsHere.
