INDIANAPOLIS (November 1, 2024) – The 2024-25 #HLWBB season begins next week for our 11 members.

#HLWBB DIG DEEPER
  • Cleveland State earned League runner-up after advancing to the Barbasol #HLWBB Championship game last season. The Vikings return three Preseason All-League First Team selections in Colbi Maples, Mickayla Perdue and Destiny Leo.
  • 2023-24 League champions Green Bay have a new head coach at the helm in Kayla Karius. The Phoenix alum brings back a Preseason All-League First Team honoree Natalie McNeal and two Second-Team members in Maddy Schreiber and Bailey Butler.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne enters the 2024-25 season after winning a program-record 23 games and a trip to the Super 16 round of the WNIT. Amellia Bromenschenkel will lead the Mastodons after averaging career highs in points (13.9) and rebounds (6.5) last season.
  • Panthers head coach Kyle Rechlicz becomes the longest-tenured #HLWBB coach as Milwaukee returns with several veterans, including Preseason Second Team All-League selection Kamy Peppler.
  • Youngstown State welcomes new head coach Melissa Jackson, who will showcase a young team with six true freshman on the roster.
  • The Wright State Raiders aim to make back-to-back trips to Indianapolis after winning 18 games and advancing to the semifinals round a season ago.
  • Jeff Hans leads a Northern Kentucky Norse squad with a lot of experience, led by Preseason Second Team All-League honoree Macey Blevins.
  • Detroit Mercy head coach Kate Achter enters her third season after a successful second season where the Titans improved their win total by 12 games.
  • The Golden Grizzlies come into this season with new key additions at the guard position with Dani Grim and Macy Smith.
  • The League’s second-leading scorer from a season ago, Katie Davidson leads IU Indianapolis after recording 16.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season.
  • Chandler McCabe enters her first season as head coach at RMU.
  • The regular season begins on Monday, Nov. 4 with Horizon League play scheduled to start on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
  • The 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are set to conclude at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum in Indianapolis March 10-11 with the mantra #MarchStartsHere.
