#HLWBB DIG DEEPER
- Major Day for Magestro
- It was career day for Malia Magestro in the Youngstown State’s 64-56 Kids Day win over Mercyhurst on Tuesday. The graduate student guard posted a career-high 25 points, with 15 of those points coming from three-point range. She also contributed four of the team’s 11 steals that turned into 17 points off turnovers for YSU.
- Golden Hour for Green Bay
- The Phoenix sent BIG EAST foe DePaul home with a loss, defeating the Blue Demons 70-57 on Thursday. #HLWBB Player of the Week Natalie McNeal paced the team with 17 points to go with four rebounds. Maddy Schreiber contributed 14 points, five boards, and six assists while Bailey Butler added 11 points, four assists and three steals.
- ‘Dons Dominate at Eastern Michigan
- Purdue Fort Wayne put on an offensive masterpiece in its 94-49 victory over Eastern Michigan on Thursday. Once again, the Mastodons rank top-10 in Division I in three-point field goal percentage, and proved why by shooting 48% from deep and eclipsing 10 three-pointers in a game for the second time this season. PFW was not only efficient from deep in this matchup, however, as it also shot over 50% from the field and 90% from the free throw line.
- Titans Come Up Big in Calihan Once Again
- Detroit Mercy remains undefeated at home after a second-half surge secured its 72-63 win against Western Michigan on Saturday. Down 29-23 after two quarters, the Titans’ offense started hitting on all cylinders, shooting 68% from the field and 67% from three to end the game. Emaia O’Brien and Aaliyah McQueen led the way, combining for 33 points and seven three-pointers in the victory.
- Perdue and Reisma Provide Huge Boost for Viking Offense
- Cleveland State has been the highest scoring offense in #HLWBB thanks in large part to the play of Mickayla Perdue and Jordana Reisma. Both Vikings are among the best offensive players that Division I has to offer this season. Perdue’s 24.8 points per game is tied for the third-most in the nation, while Reisma’s 68.9% clip from the field is ranked ninth-best across all DI programs.
- Skorupski Erupts in Oakland Win
- Maddy Skorupski posted career-highs in points and steals in Oakland’s 76-65 win against Central Michigan on Sunday. The junior guard led all players with 28 points and eight steals in the game. This season, Skorupski is tied for fifth in steals in Division I.
- Raiders Tame Bobcats in Sunday Win
- Claire Henson and Amaya Staton led the way for Wright State in its 68-57 win on Sunday. Scoring 12 points in the contest, Henson has now reached double figures in five out of six games this season. Staton’s 11-point, 11 rebound performance marked her third-straight double-double of the year.
