Under Armour #HLTF Indoor Athletes of the Week (February 13)

INDIANAPOLIS (February 13, 2024) – Purdue Fort Wayne’s Harrison Niswander, Oakland’s Abby Jackson, Youngstown State’s Dominic Perry, and Northern Kentucky’s Julia Pohl earned this week’s #HLTF Indoor weekly awards.
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK | HARRISON NISWANDER | PURDUE FORT WAYNE | SOPHOMORE | HUNTINGTON, IND.
- Had two top-10 finishes at the GVSU Big Meet
- Placed second in the 5K and set a new school record with a time of 14:21.78
- Finished 10th in the 800m, setting another school record with a time of 1:52.80
- Ranks first in the 5k event and sixth in the 800m event in the Horizon League
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK | ABBY JACKSON | OAKLAND | SOPHOMORE | NIAGARA WEST FALLS, ONTARIO
- Placed herself atop the Horizon League leaderboard in the women's 800m with her performance at the GVSU Big Meet
- Finished fourth in the event with a personal best of 2:10.83
- Beat out her personal best time from a week before by nearly a second
- Ranks first in the League in the 800m event
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | DOMINIC PERRY | YOUNGSTOWN STATE | SENIOR | COLUMBIANA, OHIO
- Won the shot put at the SPIRE Indoor Collegiate Games
- Had a winning toss of 18.01m in the event
- Was also fifth in the weight throw with a season-best toss of 17.17m
- Ranks second in the shot put and third in the weight throw in the Horizon League
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | JULIA POHL | NORTHERN KENTUCKY | JUNIOR | WINCHESTER, KY.
- Won the women’s high jump with a best leap of 1.60-meters at the Marshall Invitational
- Was her second victory in the event so far this season
- Currently the top student-athlete in the Horizon League in the high jump event
