INDIANAPOLIS (February 14, 2024) – Cleveland State’s Kade Mindry and Sima Heren earned this week’s Under Armour #HLTennis Singles Players of the Week awards while Cleveland State’s JuandeDios Abboud and Carl Gedlitschka and Tereze Vevere and Ella Franz collected Under Armour #HLTennis Doubles Teams of the Week honors.
MEN’S SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK | KADE MINDRY | CLEVELAND STATE | SENIOR | DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA
- Went 2-0 at No. 2 singles on the weekend, including the clinching point in the 4-3 victory over Toledo
- Opened the weekend with a 5-7, 6-4, 7-6(5) thriller against the Rockets to mark Cleveland State's third straight 4-3 victory
- Followed that up with another three-set win at Ball State, earning a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory against the Cardinals
WOMEN’S SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK | SIMA HEREN | CLEVELAND STATE | JUNIOR | SANDVIKA, NORWAY
- Went 2-0 at No. 2 singles on the weekend, notching both wins in straight sets
- Opened the weekend with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at West Virginia
- Followed that up with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Radford to help the Vikings earn the team victory
MEN’S DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK | JUANDEDIOS ABBOUD AND CARL GEDLITSCHKA | CLEVELAND STATE
- The duo went 1-0 on the weekend, helping the Vikings earn the doubles point at Ball State
- Picked up a 6-2 victory against the Cardinals to give Cleveland State the early 1-0 advantage
WOMEN’S DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK | TEREZE VEVERE AND ELLA FRANZ | CLEVELAND STATE
- The duo went 1-0 on the weekend at No. 3 doubles
- They earned a 6-3 victory against West Virginia to open the weekend and played an unfinished match against Radford
