INDIANAPOLIS (February 26, 2024) – Youngstown State’s Dena Jarrells and Purdue Fort Wayne’s Erin Woodson earned this week’s Under Armour #HLWBB weekly awards.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK | DENA JARRELLS | YOUNGSTOWN STATE | FIFTH-YEAR SENIOR | GUARD | DUNLOW, W. VA.
- She fueled Youngstown State’s comeback at NKU, scoring all 25 of her points in the final 23 minutes of the contest.
- She was 0-for-4 from the field with three turnovers in the first 17 minutes of the game.
- After that slow start, she was 9-for-14 from the field and had just one turnover.
- The 25 points were the most by a Penguin this season, and it tied the highest game of her career.
- By making five 3-pointers last week, Jarrells jumped up to second in the Horizon League rankings with 2.1 3s per contest.
- She’s also fourth in the league in assists per game, and she’s seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio.
