INDIANAPOLIS (March 10, 2024) – The 2024 Barbasol #HLWBB Championship will resume on Monday in Indianapolis with semifinal games streaming on ESPN+ followed by the championship matchup on Tuesday on ESPNU.

No. 1 seed Cleveland State
  • Quarterfinal Results
    • In the quarterfinals, the Vikings defeated No. 9 seed Northern Kentucky 88-78 on Thursday.
    • #HLWBB Player of the Year Colbi Maples paced the team with 31 points and five assists.
    • #HLWBB Newcomer of the Year Mickayla Perdue (24), Jordana Reisma (15) and Sara Guerreiro (10) all added in double digits as well.
    • #HLWBB Defensive Player of the Year Carmen Villalobos grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
    • The Vikings shot 59% from the field and scored 18 of their points in transition.

    • Cleveland State claimed their first regular season title this season under #HLWBB Coach of the Year Chris Kielsmeier
    • The Vikings have two All-League First Team selections (Maples, Perdue) and two All-Defensive Team selections (Maples, Villalobos).
    • The Vikings were the only team in the League to go undefeated at home this season, winning all 17 of their games.
    • Cleveland State is currently on a 10-game winning streak.

    • The Vikings aim to be the first team to repeat as champions since Green Bay did in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
No. 2 seed Green Bay
  • Quarterfinal Results
    • On Thursday, the Phoenix earned a dominant 94-57 victory over No. 7 seed Youngstown State.
    • Five players scored in double figures, with 16 points from Cassie Schiltz leading the way.
    • Maddy Schreiber (15), Maren Westin (13), Callie Genke (11) and Bailey Butler (10).
    • Green Bay’s bench gave high-level production, scoring 41 points on 15-23 shooting.
    • The Phoenix also spread the ball around, racking up 26 assists on their 35 made field goals.
  • Season Accolades
    • Green Bay led the League in All-League selections with three (Natalie McNeal, Schreiber and Butler).
    • Callie Genke earned #HLWBB Sixth Player of the Year honors.
    • The Phoenix ran off a 10-game winning streak during the regular season, spanning over a month.

No. 3 seed Purdue Fort Wayne
  • Quarterfinal Results
    • Purdue Fort Wayne punched their ticket to Indianapolis on Thursday by defeating No. 6 seed Detroit Mercy 66-35.
    • Audra Emmerson and Destinee Marshall led the way for the Mastodons with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
    • The ‘Dons finished the game strong in the second half, outscoring the Titans 41-17.
  • Season Accolades
    • The Mastodons received two All-League selections (Amellia Bromenschenkel and Shayla Sellers) and two All-Freshman Team selections (Renna Schwieterman and Erin Woodson) this season.
    • Purdue Fort Wayne eclipsed 20 wins in the regular season for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
  • Championship History
    • The Mastodons are making their second-straight semifinals appearance and look to reach their first championship game since joining the League in 2020.
No. 4 seed Wright State
  • Quarterfinal Results
    • The Raiders started their postseason run with a 70-60 win against Milwaukee on Thursday.
    • Alexis Hutchison scored a game-high 23 points, with Layne Ferrell contributing 17 points and Cara VanKempen finishing with 11.
    • Wright State cashed in at the foul line in the fourth quarter, going 11-12 on free throws.
  • Season Accolades
    • Hutchison earned All-League First Team honors as the League’s leading scorer with 19.2 points per game.
    • Lauren Scott finished as a finalist for the #HLWBB Sportsmanship Award.
  • Championship History
    • The Raiders are making their 13th semifinals appearance and are searching for their first championship appearance since the 2020-21 season.
