INDIANAPOLIS (March 5, 2024) – The 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship began on Tuesday with Cleveland State, Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne earning wins to advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday.

  • No. 6 seed Milwaukee outlasted No. 11 seed Detroit Mercy, 83-79.
    • The Panthers made their last four field goal attempts and shot 17-20 from the free throw line in the contest.
    • BJ Freeman posted a 30-point, 10-rebound double-double with five assists for MKE.

    • The Vikings shot 60 percent from the floor in the win.
    • Four CSU players scored in double figures with Jayson Woodrich leading the way with 18 points while Tristan Enaruna added 15 points.
    • A trio of Jags led their offense with 11 points each.
    • Cleveland State will head to Youngstown State for a quarterfinal matchup at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday.
  • No. 8 seed Purdue Fort Wayne posted a 78-63 home win over No. 9 seed RMU.
    • The Mastodons jumped out to a 46-28 halftime lead and finished the game with 50 points in the paint.
    • Quinton Morton-Robertson led Purdue Fort Wayne with 17 points and Jalen Jackson scored 16 points.
    • TJ Wainwright paced the Colonials with 14 points.
    • The ‘Dons will take on top-seeded Oakland at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
  • No. 4 seed Wright State will host No. 5 seed Northern Kentucky on Thursday in the fourth #HLMBB quarterfinal at 8 p.m. ET.
  • Every game of the championship will be carried on ESPN networks with the first round and quarterfinal games streamed on ESPN+. The first semifinal game in Indianapolis will be on ESPNU starting at 7 p.m. ET on March 11 followed by semifinal No. 2 on ESPN2 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The championship game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 12.
  • The 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championships will culminate with the semifinal and championship games at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum March 11-12.
