INDIANAPOLIS (March 7, 2024) – The 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship continued on Thursday with Oakland, Northern Kentucky, Milwaukee and Cleveland State winning quarterfinals to advance to Monday’s semifinals in Indianapolis.

  • No. 1 seed Oakland defeated No. 8 seed Purdue Fort Wayne, 75-65.
    • The Golden Grizzlies shot 51 percent from the floor and 94 percent (15-16) from the free throw line.
    • Rocket Watts led OAK with 18 points while DQ Cole added 14 and Chris Conway scored 11 points.
    • Four Mastodons scored in double figures led by Rasheed Bello’s 16 points.
  • No. 7 seed Cleveland State posted an 82-70 win at No. 2 seed Youngstown State.
    • The Viking defense held the Penguins to 16 percent (5-31) from three-point range.
    • Chase Robinson led CSU with 20 points. Drew Lowder (17 points), Tevin Smith (15 points) and Tae Williams (14 points) also scored in double figures.
    • DJ Burns led YSU with 17 points and 18 rebounds.
  • No. 5 seed Northern Kentucky won a 99-97 overtime thriller at No. 4 seed Wright State.
    • Randall Pettus II sent the game to overtime with a second-chance basket at the end of regulation.
    • Marques Warrick scored a game-high 35 points for the Norse.
    • Tanner Holden led the Raiders with 24 points and Trey Calvin and Alex Huibregtse scored 20 points each.
  • No. 6 seed Milwaukee collected a 95-84 road win at No. 3 seed Green Bay.
    • The Panthers outscored the Phoenix 54-36 in the paint and 21-7 off the bench.
    • BJ Freeman led MKE with 32 points, Faizon Fields added 19 points and Erik Pratt scored 15 points.
    • Noah Reynolds paced GB with 27 points.
  • No. 1 seed Oakland will face No. 7 Cleveland State in the first semifinal matchup at 7 p.m. ET on Monday.
  • No. 5 seed Northern Kentucky will take on No. 6 seed Milwaukee in the second semifinal game at 9:30 p.m. ET on Monday.
  • The first semifinal game in Indianapolis will be on ESPNU followed by semifinal No. 2 on ESPN2. The championship game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 12.
  • The 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championships will culminate with the semifinal and championship games at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum March 11-12.
