ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University Athletics has announced that men's soccer Interim Head Coach Paul Doroh will assume the head coaching position effective April 22.

"Throughout the interview process, I was impressed by Paul's vision for the program and how he plans to implement that vision. I look forward to watching him lead the current and future Oakland men's soccer student-athletes to much success on and off the field," said Oakland Director of Athletics Steve Waterfield.

Doroh has been a member of the Oakland men's soccer staff since 2016, moving from Assistant to Associate Head Coach in 2020. Since joining the staff, Doroh has helped Oakland win a pair Horizon League regular season titles (2021, 2023) and two league championship game appearances (2021, 2023), along with a Horizon League Championship victory in 2021.

"I can't fully express what it means to remain at Oakland as the head coach of the men's soccer program. I am honored and humbled," said Doroh. "Thank you Steve Waterfield for your confidence in me to lead this program. To be given the chance to give back to a program that has given me so much is truly a blessing. There is a lot of work to be done, but I'm excited and inspired by this group of young men and can't wait to get started. I will do my very best to make you proud and continue the decades-long history of success at Oakland!"

A long-time Golden Grizzly, Doroh was inducted into the Oakland Athletics Hall of Honor in 2010, honoring his playing career as a then Pioneer, where he earned two-time All-GLIAC honors and led Oakland to two NCAA National Championship game appearances. Doroh takes the helm for a program with high expectations for the foreseeable future.
