Northern Kentucky and Youngstown State Advance to #HLBASE Championship Saturday

DAYTON, OHIO (May 24, 2024) – Northern Kentucky and Youngstown State advanced to Saturday’s #HLBASE championship with victories on Friday.

- No. 2 seed Northern Kentucky advanced to its first #HLBASE championship game with a 10-6 win over top-seeded Wright State in Friday’s first game.
- The Norse jumped out to a 6-0 lead and held a 10-1 advantage entering the bottom of the ninth.

- The Penguins added two runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Trey Law and Brett Stanley and added one run each in the eighth and ninth innings.
- YSU held the Raiders to three hits.
- Colin Casteel picked up the win with 6.0 innings pitched and one earned run allowed.
- Five Penguins had two hits each.
- Youngstown State will look to defeat NKU twice on Saturday to earn its first title since 2014.
