2024 #HLSB Championship Bracket Set with Youngstown State Earning the No. 1 Seed

INDIANAPOLIS (May 4, 2024) – The bracket for the 2024 Horizon League Softball Championship was released on Saturday following the completion of the regular season. Youngstown State will host the championship after securing the regular season title and No. 1 seed earlier this week.

  • Youngstown State finished the regular season with a 20-4 #HLSB record and is 36-15 overall after wrapping up League play with a series sweep of IUPUI.
    • The Penguins will take on the winner of game one at noon ET on Thursday, May 9.
  • Oakland enters postseason play as the No. 2 seed after recording a 17-6 League record, including a series sweep at Purdue Fort Wayne this weekend.
    • The Golden Grizzlies open the championship at 2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday against the winner of game two.
  • Cleveland State (14-10 HL) earned the No. 3 seed after a series win over Northern Kentucky to finish the regular season.

  • NKU (14-10 HL) will be the No. 4 seed and take on No. 5 seed RMU (13-10 HL) in the opening game of the championship at noon ET on Wednesday.
