INDIANAPOLIS (May 7, 2024) – Milwaukee’s Carson Hansen and Youngstown State’s Jacob Gehring earned this week’s Under Armour #HLBASE awards.
BATTER OF THE WEEK | CARSON HANSEN | MILWAUKEE | SOPHOMORE | PEWAUKEE, WISCONSIN
- Helped Milwaukee to a 4-1 week as he led the team with 10 RBIs and a .737 slugging percentage.
- Scored a team-best eight runs, as he had one home run and two doubles on the week.
- Had nine hits on the week in 19 at bats (.474 avg) and added three walks for a .565 obp.
- Leads the Horizon League with 22 doubles, is fourth with 58 RBIs, and tied for seventh in home runs (10).
PITCHER OF THE WEEK | JACOB GEHRING | YOUNGSTOWN STATE | JUNIOR | CANFIELD, OHIO
- Tossed six scoreless innings to earn his fourth win of the season in YSU’s 10-0 series-opening victory at Northern Kentucky on Friday.
- Scattered three hits and recorded a career-high seven strikeouts while limiting the Norse to a .143 batting average.
- Retired the side in order in the fifth inning while recording a strikeout in five different frames.
