2025-26 Season Preview Notebook
INDIANAPOLIS (October 30, 2025)
– The 2025-26 tips off next week for our 11 #HLMBB teams.

#HLMBB DIG DEEPER
  • A Preseason All-League First Team selection for Milwaukee, Amar Augillard averaged 13.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for Fresno State last season. Prior to that, the redshirt senior was selected as the 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Year after averaging 22.7 points per game at Triton College.
  • Preseason Player of the Year Tuburu Naivalurua enters his third season with the Golden Grizzlies. The Sydney, Australia native posted 13.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for Oakland last season.
  • Vlad Salaridze joins Youngstown State from UT-Martin. Last season, Salaridze averaged 10.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.
  • Ryan Prather Jr. posted 11 double-figure scoring games for the Colonials last season, averaging 8.3 points and shooting 39.7 percent from three-point range.
  • Corey Hadnot II averaged 9.0 points per game for the Mastodons in his sophomore season, shooting 39.23 percent from three points-range with 38 steals.
  • Dan Gherezgher started 14 games for Northern Kentucky last season, averaging 7.5 points per game with a season-high 26 points against Cleveland State on February 5.
  • Michael Imariagbe returns for his second season at Wright State after shooting 64.4 percent from the floor in 2024-25, making 18 starts for the Raiders.
  • There are two new head coaches in #HLMBB this season.
    • Ben Howlett takes over at IU Indianapolis while Rob Summers takes the helm at Cleveland State.
  • Detroit Mercy’s Orlando Lovejoy posted 16.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 30 games for the Titans last season and earned a spot on the Preseason All-League First Team.
  • Preseason All-League First Team honoree Marcus Hall started 31 games for Green Bay last season, averaging 13.9 points per game.
  • The regular season starts on Monday, Nov. 3 with Horizon League play scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
  • The 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are scheduled to culminate at the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis March 8-10 with the mantra #MarchStartsHere.
  • A total of eight Horizon League matchups will air on ESPN linear networks including five during the regular season.
