Green Bay Selected First in 2025-26 Under Armour #HLWBB Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS (October 9, 2025) – The League’s head coaches selected Green Bay as the front runner to win this season’s #HLWBB title in the 2025-26 Under Armour #HLWBB Preseason Poll. Preseason Player of the Year honors went to Cleveland State’s Colbi Maples for the second straight season.

  • 2024-25 Freshman of the Year Sophia Gregory is back to lead Youngstown State this season.
    • Gregory totaled 10.2 points and 7.9 rebounds in her rookie campaign with the Penguins.
  • Cleveland State was 14-6 in #HLWBB play last season with 27 overall wins.
    • Preseason Player of the Year Colbi Maples played in three games last season before a season-ending injury.
      • Maples posted 16.6 points, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game during her Player of the Year campaign in 2023-24.
  • Aaliyah McQueen scored 13.5 points and added 7.3 rebounds per game for the Titans last season.
  • NKU’s Mya Meredith averaged 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 2024-25.
  • #HLWBB welcomes two new coaches this season.
    • Kiefer Haffey takes over at Detroit Mercy while Keisha Newell takes the helm at Oakland.
  • The regular season starts on Monday, Nov. 3 with Horizon League play scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
  • The 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are scheduled to culminate at the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis March 8-10 with the mantra #MarchStartsHere.
