Youngstown State Men and Women Take 2025 #HLXC Championships
Fort Wayne, Indiana – Youngstown State swept the 2025 #HLXC Championships in Fort Wayne Saturday, capturing both the men’s and women’s titles.

Team Standings
- Youngstown State won their fourth straight men’s championship with a score of 50 points.
- Following Youngstown State in the team results was runner-up Oakland (92 points). IU Indianapolis (99 points), Green Bay (124 points), and Northern Kentucky (131 points) rounded out the top five.
- The Penguins also took home the women’s title for the sixth time, winning with a score of 54 points.
- Following Youngstown State was Purdue Fort Wayne with 74 points. Third place was earned by Oakland (79 points), followed by Milwaukee (127 points). Green Bay picked up 147 points to round out the top five.
Individual Highlights
- Noah Jahnke of Green Bay was the men’s 8K champion after finishing in a time of 23:38.
- Youngstown State’s McKinley Fielding was the women’s 6K champion after crossing the line in a time of 20:10.
- In the men’s race, Northern Kentucky’s Natnael Weldemichael (23:47) finished as the runner up. Detroit Mercy’s Josh Otten (23:55.2) finished third and Youngstown State’s Patrick Burgos (23:55.7) and Northern Kentucky’s Colton O’Hara (23:56) rounded out the top five.
- Patrick Burgos of Youngstown State won Freshman of the Year, finishing in fourth place with a time of 23:55.7.
- On the women’s side, Milwaukee’s Anelise Egge was the runner-up with a time of 20:46.
- Purdue Fort Wayne’s Riley Tate (20:49) and Oakland’s Eliza Bush (20:59) finished in third and fourth respectively, while Ana Crangle (21:03) of Cleveland State rounded out the top five.
- Eliza Bush of Oakland won Freshman of the Year, finishing in fourth place with a time of 20:59.
