Horizon League Reveals 2025 #HLMSOC Awards

INDIANAPOLIS (November 7, 2025) – The Horizon League announced our 2025 #HLMSOC awards on Friday. All-League awards were voted on by the League’s head coaches.
 
Green Bay midfielder Keegan Walker was named the Horizon League Player of the Year. Purdue Fort Wayne’s Shane Anderson was voted Offensive Player of the Year. Cleveland State swept several major awards, with Ryan Poling capturing Goalkeeper of the Year, Uros Jevtic voted Defensive Player of the Year, Uzman Ramees earning Freshman of the Year and Sinisa Ubiparipovic named Coach of the Year. Detroit Mercy’s Drew Pierson won the League’s Sportsmanship Award.

  • Walker totaled 15 points in #HLMSOC play with six goals and three assists, leading the Phoenix to another spot in the playoffs.
  • Anderson totaled 11 points in League play with five goals and one assist.
  • Poling allowed eight goals in League matches with three shutouts, 31 saves and a .795 save percentage.
  • Jevtic anchored a CSU defense that allowed eights goals in nine League matches, adding one goal.
  • Ramees scored three goals and finished with two assists in League play for the Vikings in his first season at Cleveland State.
  • The Sportsmanship Award recognizes student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Sportsmanship is defined as behavior exhibited during competition by student-athletes based on values, respect and integrity.
    • Pierson is a two-year captain for the Titans, demonstrating exceptional leadership as a junior. This season, he has maintained strong discipline on the field, receiving only three yellow cards. Beyond his athletic contributions, Pierson takes initiative in organizing team bonding activities and fostering a positive team culture. His dedication extends to the classroom, where he holds an impressive GPA just shy of a perfect 4.0.
  • Ubiparipovic picked up the #HLMSOC Coach of the Year award after guiding the Vikings to an 5-1-3 League record.
  • Cleveland State paced the League with four All-League First Team selections.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne posted three student-athletes on the All-League First Team.
  • The Horizon League Men’s Soccer Championship kicks off on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT with two quarterfinal contests.
    • No. 3 seed Green Bay hosts No. 6 seed Oakland while No. 4 seed Milwaukee will welcome No. 5 seed RMU.
  • On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the championship will move to Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne.
    • The first semifinal will see No. 1 seed Cleveland State square off against the worst remaining seed at 4 p.m. ET with No. 2 seed Purdue Fort Wayne taking on the best remaining seed at 4 p.m. ET.
