  • Juwan Maxey led the Penguins to a 2-0 record last week with a pair of road victories at Oakland and Detroit Mercy. Maxey averaged 20 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game and shot 55 percent from the floor, 55.6 percent from 3-point range, and 100 percent (8-for-8) from the free-throw line.
  • Youngstown State leads the League and ranks in the top 15 nationally in blocks per game with 5.3. Gabe Dynes ranks second in the country with 3.0 blocks per game.
  • EJ Farmer paces the Penguins with 15.6 points per game while Nico Galette adds 11.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
  • Tahj Staveskie set a new career high with 30 points in Cleveland State’s win over Milwaukee on Saturday, shooting 68 percent from the field and 62 percent from three-point range.
  • Cleveland State owns the top scoring defense in the League, allowing just 65.1 points per game and also leads the League in steals per game with 9.0 and turnovers forced per game with 16.0.
  • Senior Tevin Smith paces the Vikings with 14.3 points per game while Staveskie adds 12.2 points per game and Dylan Arnett contributes 11.1 points and 7.5 rebounds.
  • The fifth edition of our Coach John McLendon Celebration will take place Sunday, February 16 through Saturday, February 22. The initiative, which highlights the major impact of Coach McLendon, will be held in conjunction with the men’s basketball ESPNU broadcasts on February 16 and 21, with additional coverage on all of the League’s ESPN+ broadcasts during that timeframe.
  • Rasheed Bello averaged 23.5 points, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in a Purdue Fort Wayne victories over Wright State and Green Bay this week.
  • Under Armour #HLMBB Player of the Week Alvaro Folgueiras posted a career-high 35 points at Northern Kentucky on Saturday, shooting 85.7 percent and adding 10 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season.
  • Themus Fulks and Jamichael Stillwell posted double-doubles in Milwaukee’s overtime win at IU Indianapolis last week. Fulks posted 12 points and 11 assists while Stillwell recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Panthers.
  • Wright State’s Brandon Noel tallied back-to-back double-doubles and shot 56 percent overall for the week as he averaged 25.5 points and 13.0 rebounds over two games. He opened his week with 25 points and 10 rebounds at Purdue Fort Wayne and followed that up with a 26-point, 16-rebound effort against IU Indy on Saturday.
  • Dan Gherezgher led NKU to a win over Cleveland State on Wednesday, totaling 26 points on 10-14 shooting and 5-7 from three-point range.
  • Allen Mukeba paced the Golden Grizzlies with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Youngstown State for his fourth double-double of the season.
  • Paul Zilinskas had 25 points, four rebounds and a season-high tying three steals against Milwaukee on Wednesday then followed up with 22 points at Wright State on Saturday.
  • The 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are scheduled to culminate at the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis March 10-11 with the mantra #MarchStartsHere following on-campus action on March 4 and 6.
