Horizon League Announces 2025 Indoor #HLTF Alfreeda Goff Athletes of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS (February 28, 2025) – The Horizon League revealed our 2025 Indoor #HLTF Alfreeda Goff Athletes of the Year on Friday. The awards were voted on by the League’s head coaches.
Youngstown State’s Luke Laubacher was awarded the Horizon League Alfreeda Goff Indoor Track and Field Men’s Athlete of the Year and Milwaukee’s Anelise Egge was selected as the Alfreeda Goff Indoor Track and Field Women’s Athlete of the Year.

- Last year’s Indoor Championship's Most Outstanding Performer for track, Laubacher was a three-time #HLTF Indoor Men’s Runner of the Week and one-time #HLTF Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Winning the 60m hurdles at four meets this year, Laubacher holds the top 60m hurdles time in the Horizon League (7.72), which currently ranks 33rd in the Country. His long jump is also the top jump in the Horizon League (7.78), and ranks 20th nationally.
- Last year’s Indoor Championship's co-Most Outstanding Performer for track, Egge holds the top Horizon League times in the 800 meters, mile, and 3000 meters. Her 3000m time of 9:33.27 broke the program record that had stood since 1983. Her mile time of 4:47.25 is also a program record.
- For 16 years, Alfreeda Goff was a member of the Horizon League team serving as Senior Associate Commissioner before retiring in 2015. She worked tirelessly to enhance the student-athlete championship experience, including track & field athletes. Prior to entering athletic administration, Alfreeda was the track and field coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
