INDIANAPOLIS (February 4, 2025) – Detroit Mercy posted a 2-0 record while Cleveland State extended its winning streak to 13 games and seven teams each earned one #HLMBB victory in this week’s action.

  • Cleveland State has won 13 consecutive games, which is tied for the second-longest active winning streak in the nation. The Vikings own the top scoring defense in the League, allowing just 64.5 points per game and also rank first in #HLMBB in opponent field goal percentage (41.9) and steals (9.26 per game).
  • Junior Orlando Lovejoy led the Titans to a pair of wins over NKU and Green Bay, averaging 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 steals and was a perfect 12-of-12 at the line. He started the week with 19 points with four rebounds, two assists and a block in the Norse victory and then had 19 points with four rebounds, four assists, and tied his career-high with five steals as the Titans topped the Phoenix.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne entered the week ranked in the top five nationally in turnovers per game (9.0), turnover margin (6.0) and three-point field goals per game (10.9). Junior Rasheed Bello posted 23 points, six rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block in the win at Milwaukee on Sunday.
  • Milwaukee started the week with top-five national rankings in fast break points (18.43), rebound margin (11.3) and offensive rebounds per game (14.83). Jamichael Stillwell is among the national leaders in double-doubles (12), rebounds per game (10.9) and offensive rebounds per game (3.91).
  • RMU’s Amarion Dickerson averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting 63.2 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range with only two turnovers in 45 minutes this week.
  • EJ Farmer averaged 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Penguins this week. Teammate Gabe Dynes paces the League and is among the leaders nationally with 3.04 blocks per game this season.
  • DQ Cole led the Golden Grizzlies with 16.5 points and 4.0 assists per game this week, adding 6.0 rebounds per game.
  • Brandon Noel paced Wright State with 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game this week against Youngstown State and RMU.
  • Five Norse scored in double figures in Saturday’s win at Oakland. Dan Gherezgher Jr. led NKU with 22 points and added six assists.
  • In addition to Under Armour #HLMBB Freshman of the Week DeSean Goode’s career-high 23 points, Paul Zilinskas added 20 points and Jarvis Walker scored 18 points in IU Indy’s road win at Youngstown State on Saturday.
  • Green Bay is among the top teams in the country in free throw percentage. The Phoenix are shooting 79.0 percent from the charity stripe this season.
  • The Youngstown State-Cleveland State men’s basketball game scheduled for Sunday, February 16 has been selected to be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at the Wolstein Center and marks the second regular season ESPN linear broadcast of the season. The network will be determined roughly one week prior to the game.
  • The Horizon League recently announced that the fifth edition of the Coach John McLendon Celebration will take place Sunday, February 16 through Saturday, February 22. The initiative, which highlights the major impact of Coach McLendon, will be held in conjunction with the men’s basketball national linear television broadcasts on February 16 and 21, with additional coverage on all of the League’s ESPN+ broadcasts during that timeframe.
  • The 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are scheduled to culminate at the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis March 10-11 with the mantra #MarchStartsHere following on-campus action on March 4 and 6.
