INDIANAPOLIS (March 19, 2025) – RMU is set to open the NCAA Tournament on Friday against Alabama in Cleveland. Cleveland State will compete in the CBI next week in Daytona Beach.

#HLMBB DIG DEEPER
  • Horizon League Player of the Year Alvaro Folgueiras averages 14.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for the Colonials while Valeo Championship MVP Kam Woods adds 15.1 points and 5.1 assists per game and Defensive Player of the Year Amarion Dickerson totals 12.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.
  • In the Barbasol #HLMBB championship game, Josh Omojafo posted a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double for the Colonials. Four other RMU players scored in double-figures with 17 points and five assists from Woods,14 points and seven assists from Folgueiras, 13 points and five rebounds from Dickerson and 11 points and six assists from D.J. Smith.
  • The win marked RMU's 10th NCAA Tournament appearance and extended their winning streak to 10 games.

  • The Colonials lead the League in assists per game (16.03).
  • RMU won its first #HLMBB regular season and tournament titles this year, defeating Wright State, Oakland and Youngstown en route to the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

  • All-League First Team selection Tevin Smith leads Cleveland State with 13.8 points per game and Tahj Staveskie adds 12.0 points and Dylan Arnett averages 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds.
  • In Cleveland State’s semifinal against Youngstown State, Smith scored 14 points while Je’Shawn Stevenson added 11 points off the bench and Staveskie chipped in 10 points.
  • Cleveland State is the top scoring defense in the League, allowing 66.0 points per game, and also leads the League in steals per game (8.73).
  • This is the fifth consecutive postseason appearance for the Vikings and the third straight season the Vikings will play in the CBI. Cleveland State fell in overtime in the first round in 2023 and advanced to the second round in last year's event.
