MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – For the fourth time in program history, the RMU softball team has earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Colonials (30-16) received an automatic bid after their historic victory in the Horizon League Championship on Saturday.

RMU's championship win over Purdue Fort Wayne marked the program's first #HLSB title and their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2005. Their previous NCAA Tournament berths came in 1994 and 1998.

The Colonials will travel to Tallahassee, Florida, to compete in the NCAA Regional hosted by No. 5 national seed Florida State. RMU will face the Seminoles in the opening round of the double-elimination regional tournament on Friday, May 16 at 2:30 PM. The game will be streamed live on ACCN.

The other first-round matchup in the Tallahassee Regional will feature South Florida against Auburn. The winners of Friday's games will advance to the winner's bracket game on Saturday, May 17, while the losers will face off in an elimination game, also scheduled for Saturday. The Regional concludes with the championship final on Sunday, May 18.

The winner of the Tallahassee Regional will advance to one of eight Super Regionals, a best-of-three series held at campus sites across the country. The victors of the Super Regionals will then move on to the prestigious College World Series in Oklahoma City.
