34 Horizon League Teams Record Perfect NCAA APR Scores

INDIANAPOLIS (May 16, 2025) – A total of 37 Horizon League teams posted top ten multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores for the latest cohort while 34 of those programs posted perfect APR scores, according to data released by the NCAA earlier this month.

  • Each academic year, every Division I team calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula.
    • Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating.
    • For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
  • This marks the fourth year of publicly reported APRs after a one-year COVID-19 hiatus.
  • Ten Horizon League institutions had at least one team post a perfect APR score.
    • Northern Kentucky led the League with nine perfect scores while IU Indianapolis posted five perfect scores.
  • Volleyball paced all League sports with six perfect scores followed by women’s tennis with five and women’s golf with four.
