38 Horizon League Teams Post Perfect Scores, 97 Programs Meet or Exceed Division I Averages in Latest NCAA APR Report

INDIANAPOLIS (May 12, 2026) – A total of 38 Horizon League teams posted perfect APR scores, according to
data released by the NCAA last week. 97 total programs met or exceeded the Division I average.

- Each academic year, every Division I team calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula.
- Scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for staying on course for a degree in their chosen major and 1 point for being retained (or graduating) at the end of each academic term.
- A team's total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000.
- For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
- This marks the fifth consecutive year of publicly reported APRs after a one-year COVID-19 hiatus.
- All 11 Horizon League institutions had at least one team post a perfect APR score.
- Youngstown State led the League with eight perfect scores while Northern Kentucky posted seven.
- Volleyball and Men’s Tennis paced all League sports with six perfect scores followed by women’s cross country with five.
