Green Bay’s Guyer and Youngstown State’s Gebhardt Honored as 2025-26 Scholar-Athletes of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS (July 2, 2026) – Green Bay women’s basketball redshirt senior Jenna Guyer and Youngstown State baseball senior Braden Gebhardt have been chosen as our 2025-26 Horizon League Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

- Guyer was named the #HLWBB Player of the Year while also collecting All-League First Team and All-Defensive Team honors on the hardwood.
- She studied human biology at Green Bay and earned Horizon League All-Academic Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition this season.
- Guyer also earned Key4Women MVP honors after leading the Phoenix to the League title and a third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
- Gebhardt earned #HLBASE Pitcher of the Year honors this spring, collecting six Pitcher of the Week awards.
- He graduated this spring with his bachelor’s degree in business administration.
- Gebhardt is a three-time member of both the Horizon League All-Academic Team and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
- One male and one female student-athlete are honored annually after the conclusion of the athletic year as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year, based on a combination of academic and athletic achievement.
- The Faculty Athletics Representatives select the recipients from a pool of the year’s Scholar-Athletes of the Season.
