2018 #HLVB Championship Central
The 2018 #HLVB championship was hosted in Green Bay, Wis. for the first time since 2002 after the Phoenix finished the regular season 13-3 to
claim the regular season title and tournament number one seed.
The championship started with quarterfinal action as No. 3 Northern Kentucky outlasted No. 6 Wright State 3-2 in a five-set battle and No. 4 UIC swept No. 5 Milwaukee, 3-0.
During Saturday’s semifinals, top-seeded Green Bay advanced to the #HLVB Championship match after a 3-1 defeat of No. 4 UIC.
In semifinal two, No. 3 Northern Kentucky swept No. 2 Cleveland State to earn its first trip to the #HLVB Championship.
The championship match belonged to the home team as the Phoenix earned a three-set sweep over the Norse to take the title.
It marked the 2nd tournament championship for Green Bay and the first since 2003.
