2019 Outdoor Track and Field Championship Central
Final Results
The 2019 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championship began on the campus of Youngstown State. After the first day of competition, two new championship records were set with Youngstown State’s Jake Wilson in the javelin (66.98m) and Milwaukee’s Emily Royston in the 10k (34:58.67).
At the conclusion of
day one, Youngstown State was the overall number one on the leaderboard with 52 points on the men’s side and 46 points on the women’s side.
The
second day of the 2019 Horizon League Outdoor Championship was a cool and rainy day that concluded with Youngstown State sitting atop the men’s and women’s leaderboard with 122.5 points and 134 points. Despite the weather, facility records were set in seven events across the men’s and women’s performances.
The 2019 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championship concluded Sunday afternoon with Youngstown State winning both the men’s and women’s titles. The men scored 311.5 points to set a record highest winning team score in the Horizon League. Youngstown State also set the widest margin of victory, putting a 137 point gap between themselves and runner-up Milwaukee. With a score of 251 points, this is the sixth consecutive women’s outdoor championship for the Penguins.
There were five facility records set in the final day of competition, in addition to six new conference records set across the men’s and women’s championships.
2019 Indoor #HLTF Championship Central
Final Results
The first day of the 2019 Indoor Track and Field Championship concluded Saturday evening at the Watson & Tressel Training Center on Youngstown State’s campus. Oakland took the lead of the women’s side after day one with a score of 64, followed closely by Youngstown State with 60 points. The men’s first place team was Youngstown State with a score of 59 and Milwaukee in second place with 40 points.
At the conclusion of the first day, two new Horizon League records were set. Youngstown State’s Chad Zallow (6.72) and Jaliyah Elliott (7.26) both set new times in the 60m dash and advanced to the finals. Additionally, Oakland’s Olivia Kane tied the Horizon League’s pole vault record of 3.81m set in 2013.
Day Two of the 2019 Indoor #HLTF Championship concluded with Youngstown State sweeping the men’s and women’s competition. The men finished with a score of 298 and the women finished with 193 points. This is the fourth consecutive men’s championship and the women’s third consecutive championship for YSU.
