2019 #HLGOLF Championship Central
The 2019 Men’s #HLGOLF championship took place at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. on April 21-23.
On day one of the competition, Northern Kentucky shot a 298 to take the early lead, led by a 73 from Jacob Poore.
Green Bay’s George Kneiser and Oakland’s Chris Handy shared the individual lead after round one, with each posting a 1-under 71.
On day two, the Norse followed their round one performance with another 298, giving them a four-shot lead with one round to play.
Kneiser posted a 69 in round two to take sole possession of the top spot on the individual leaderboard ahead of the final round.
On the final day, Wright State shot an impressive 288 team score, pushing them ahead of the Norse, and winning the championship by eight shots.
It was the first men’s golf title for the Raiders since 2004.
Kneiser shot a final round 75, holding on to his lead to top WSU’s Bryce Haney by three strokes and earn championship medalist honors for the Phoenix.
Kneiser and Haney were joined on the All-Tournament Team by Oakland’s Colin Sikkenga and Marc Norton and WSU’s Cole Corder.
